Cheryl Wilson created Why We Wag in 2012 as her result of her lifelong love of dogs. Her desire to increase an awareness of the role dogs play in humans lives as companions and family members began 35 years ago. As an advocate to end the inappropriate use of dogs as experimental subjects, her dedication to creating humane treatment continues today.
After 22 years in the Educational sector, Cheryl utilizes her expertise as an award winning educator, to educate dog lovers, along with offer supplies that support a healthy, meaningful relationship with canines. Anytime there is an event that brings dog lovers to 5k’s, adoption events, or fundraisers, Cheryl attends so that she can learn firsthand what human’s want and need for their dogs.
Recently Cheryl added to her list of educational accomplishments a Certification in Dog Emotion and Cognition thorough Duke University. She also holds a Bachelors Degree in Education, and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from WSU. Her other certification is in Conflict Resolution from the USU. Residing in Utah, Cheryl is celebrating her 5th generation with dogs and now her first generation of grand-dogs. She sees her accumulation of knowledge and skills, as a valuable asset in the future of the relationship humans will have with dogs.
